HE Abdulla Mohammed Alashram, Group CEO of 7X, stands at the forefront of transforming the
UAE’s logistics, postal, and financial services landscape. With a clear vision to establish 7X as a
global leader, HE Alashram has steered the organisation through significant operational expansions
and technological innovations, leading to the launch of EMX, 7X’s logistics arm, and the success of
the group’s diverse portfolio, which includes Emirates Post, EDC, and FINTX.
The rebranding to 7X in early 2024 marked a pivotal milestone in the organisation’s history.
Symbolising the UAE’s seven emirates and their connectivity to the seven continents, it reflects HE
Alashram’s ambition to position 7X as a catalyst for global trade, transport and logistics.
Operational excellence
Under HE Alashram’s leadership, 7X has achieved impressive operational growth. In the first half of
2024, the organisation reported a 12% year-on-year increase in international outbound postal
shipments and a 42% surge in inbound shipments, facilitated by its International Express Mail
Service (EMS) and parcel delivery offerings. Domestically, 7X achieved an 8.5% growth in last-mile
and courier shipments, meeting the growing demand for reliable and efficient logistics solutions.
Demonstrating a commitment to expansion, 7X currently operates the country’s largest retail
network for courier, postal, and community services with more than 1,000 locations as part of its
Pick-Up and Drop-Off (PUDO) initiative. This success reflects HE Alashram’s focus on accessibility
and customer-centric service delivery.
Financial services innovation
HE Alashram has overseen significant advancements in financial services through 7X’s fintech arm,
FINTX. In the first half of 2024, financial transactions grew by 38%, underscoring the organisation’s
dedication to diversifying its service offerings and strengthening its position as a key player in the
financial technology sector in the UAE.
Technological advancements
Under HE Alashram’s guidance, 7X has embraced technology to enhance its service capabilities. At
GITEX Global 2024, 7X unveiled Waslah, a cutting-edge logistics platform designed to streamline
operations for businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Waslah provides customers with a variety of delivery options, optimised route planning, shipment
consolidation, and smart tracking, reflecting 7X’s commitment to using innovation for service
delivery.
7X also launched Wayn, the UAE’s digital PO box, to transform postal services by providing
individuals and businesses with a permanent UAE digital address. Wayn ensures secure delivery of
shipments, official correspondences, and e-documents.
Environmental and social responsibility
HE Alashram’s vision extends beyond operational success to include environmental sustainability.
Through initiatives aimed at reducing the group’s environmental footprint, such as the launch of
EMX’s e-bikes, 7X aligns with the UAE’s sustainability goals.
