Battery Swapping Stations for E-Bike Deliveries in Dubai

Dubai is promoting sustainable delivery solutions through the rollout of battery-swapping stations for
electric bikes. Led by the Roads and Transport Authority in collaboration with Terra Tech Ltd, the
program is designed to support a network of e-bike deliveries across the city. Battery swapping allows
delivery riders to quickly replace depleted batteries without returning to a central hub, making the
process more efficient. This initiative aligns with Dubai’s 2030 strategy to reduce carbon emissions
and modernize urban transport.

On-Foot Delivery Program in Dubai

Amazon, in collaboration with the Dubai Future Foundation, has launched a pilot program enabling
residents to deliver packages on foot in densely populated areas. This program addresses congestion
issues while creating flexible employment opportunities in the gig economy. By utilizing residents for
last-mile deliveries, the initiative reduces reliance on vehicles, lowers emissions, and provides faster
delivery in high-demand neighborhoods. The on-foot delivery model is an innovative approach to
urban logistics that could be scaled to other areas in the UAE.
