In the UAE, women entrepreneurs have witnessed significant growth, supported by national initiatives such as the
National Policy for Empowerment of Emirati Women 2023-2031. Emirati women today own more than 128,500 small
and medium enterprises (SMEs) and oversee more than 135,000 projects. Women now account for 18 percent of all
entrepreneurs in the country, reflecting the nation’s commitment to inclusive development.
Tariq Ahmed Al Wahedi, Chair of the 28th Congress and Group CEO of 7X, stated that, “Hosting the Universal Postal
Congress in Dubai reflects the UAE’s enduring commitment to innovation, sustainability, and global cooperation. We
believe that a truly connected world – built on advanced infrastructure and forward-thinking policies – is one where
communities are empowered, economies thrive, and opportunities are limitless.”
As part of this effort, 7X has introduced innovative solutions supporting SMEs, including NXN, the UAE’s national
logistics network, and Waslah Post, launched at the Congress as the world’s first digital marketplace aggregating
postal operators to facilitate cross-border trade. These platforms provide small businesses with access to smart digital
tools, streamlined logistics, and new global markets.
Through its discussions and initiatives, the Universal Postal Congress in Dubai has reinforced the UAE’s role as a global
hub for inclusive growth and innovation. By advancing opportunities for women entrepreneurs, the Congress has
highlighted how the postal sector can be transformed into a driver of sustainable economic empowerment.
