Bahrain-UAE sports co-operation deal

The General Sports Authority (GSA) and the General Sports Authority of the UAE have signed a
memorandum of understanding (MoU) on co-operation in sports.
The agreement was signed by Supreme Council for Youth and Sport first deputy chairman, GSA
chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa and Dr
Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, UAE’s Minister of Education and chairman of the General Sports Authority.
The agreement aimed at enhancing co-operation in sports, qualifying sports personnel, organising
programmes and activities, and exchanging expertise.
Shaikh Khalid emphasised that the signing of the MoU affirmed the deep-rooted bilateral ties and
mutual keenness to advance the sports sector.
“We are pleased to sign a memorandum of understanding with the UAE, which will contribute to the
exchange of expertise and enhance collaboration to advance the sector on many levels,” Shaikh Khalid
said.
