11/1/24, 1:54 PM Dubai Chamber of Commerce Establishes Vietnamese Business Council to Boost Bilateral Trade
The event attracted over 100 business and government leaders, including Vietnam’s Prime

Minister Phạm Minh Chính, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al

Zeyoudi, and Dubai Chambers’ Chairman Abdul Aziz Abdullah Al Ghurair. Discussions

focused on enhancing cooperation in critical sectors, with an emphasis on green economy,

digital transformation, and innovation. Strategic Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs)
were signed, highlighting cooperation in aviation, logistics, electric vehicles, and finance.

Among the key agreements were partnerships between Vietnam Airlines and Emirates and

Etihad, DP World and Vietnam Maritime Corporation, and Vinfast with Emirates Driving

        Company, each reinforcing sectoral collaboration.

Al Ghurair emphasized the UAE’s commitment to expanding bilateral trade:

“The UAE and Vietnam enjoy robust economic ties, and

we look forward to more opportunities through the

             Vietnamese Business Council.”

He noted that 75 new Vietnamese companies joined the Dubai Chamber in 2023, reflecting

growing interest in the UAE market.

Dr. Al Zeyoudi highlighted the UAE’s role as a gateway for Vietnamese companies aiming

to access markets in the Middle East, Africa, and Europe, underlining the Council’s

        potential to drive new synergies.

This forum and the council’s establishment come amid rising non-oil trade, reaching AED

31.7 billion in 2023, a 12.2% increase from the previous year.
