ABU DHABI: The Forbes Middle East Sustainability Leaders Summit 2024 kicked off in Abu Dhabi with a focus on
building a greener future. Led by Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, the UAE’s Minister of State for Foreign Trade, the
event brings together experts, business leaders, and innovators to discuss how to make the world more sustainable,
with trade playing a big role.

In his opening speech, Dr. Thani explained how the UAE’s position as a global trade hub helps shape greener and

more efficient supply chains, which are essential for economic growth. He pointed out that sustainability is a core
part of the UAE’s plan to diversify its economy, saying, “Sustainability isn’t just a challenge; it’s an opportunity for
innovation. By focusing on cleaner and smarter trade, we can create a more inclusive and prosperous future for
everyone.”

Khuloud Al Omian, CEO of Forbes Middle East, added, “This summit is a platform for influential voices to come
together, share ideas, and inspire action. It’s about creating opportunities to push forward the sustainability agenda,

The summit features discussions on topics like green policies, how sustainable finance can help tackle climate

change, and protecting natural resources. Attendees are also getting hands-on experience through workshops on
wellness, recycling, and using plants to create healthy living spaces.
