       THE Uni versity of Doha for Sci ence and Tech no logy’s (UDST) Col lege of Com put ing and

       Inform a tion Tech no logy (CCIT) and the RIPE Net work Coordin a tion Centre (RIPE NCC) have
       entered into a part ner ship aimed at improv ing edu ca tion in Inter net gov ernance and infra -
       struc ture.
       This col lab or a tion, which was ini ti ated dur ing a coordin a tion meet ing at UDST, involves the

       shar ing of expert ise and resources between RIPE NCC experts and UDST’s fac ulty to bene  t
       the stu dents of the Col lege of Com put ing and Inform a tion Tech no logy (CCIT).
       The part ner ship provides CCIT stu dents access to RIPE NCC’s extens ive resources, includ ing
       e-learn ing courses in the RIPE NCC Academy, webinars, in-per son work shops, and cer ti  c a -

       tion pro grams focused on advanced Inter net tech no lo gies.
       This ini ti at ive is part of CCIT’s strategy to update its cur riculum to address the demands of
       the digital age, with a focus on Inter net infra struc ture and gov ernance.
       Dr. Zakaria Maamar, dean of the Col lege of Com put ing and Inform a tion Tech no logy at UDST,

       under scored the com mit ment to con tinu ing e orts to provide stu dents with the latest skills,
       com pet en cies, and know ledge in Inter net net work ing tech no logy.
       “The col lab or a tion will intro duce the RIPE NCC Aca demic Port fo lio into the Col lege’s cur -
       riculum across all its aca demic pro grams includ ing inform a tion tech no logy, inform a tion sys -

       tems, cyber se cur ity, arti   cial intel li gence, and soft ware engin eer ing, aim ing to enrich stu -
       dents’ the or et ical and prac tical under stand ing of new Inter net tech no lo gies and gov -
       ernance,” said Dr Maamar.
       Dr. Cha c Chaya, the RIPE NCC regional man ager for Pub lic Policy and Gov ern ment A airs,

       expressed enthu si asm about empower ing the Qatari Inter net and aca demic com munit ies,
       stated: “The RIPE NCC is enthu si astic about empower ing the Qatari Inter net and aca demic
       com munit ies, which comes along side our stra tegic part ner ship with the Com mu nic a tion
       Reg u lat ory Author ity in Qatar (CRA).

       Today, this col lab or a tion with UDST’s Col lege of Com put ing and Inform a tion Tech no logy
       con trib utes to our organ isa tion’s stand ing as a trus ted player in edu ca tion and devel op ment
       in the Inter net sec tor.”
       The dis cus sions high lighted the import ance of pro grams like the RIPE Aca demic Cooper a tion

       Ini ti at ive (RACI) and the RIPE NCC Com munity Project Fund (CPF), which foster aca demic
       and research engage ment within the Inter net com munity. These plat forms encour age stu -
       dents and research ers to show case their research and gain insights from global Inter net
       experts.

       Look ing ahead, RIPE NCC and UDST plan to include a RIPE NCC e-learn ing course on IPv6 in
       the CCIT cur riculum for the aca demic year 2024-2025, under scor ing their com mit ment to
       equip ping stu dents with neces sary skills in emer ging Inter net tech no lo gies.
