Etihad Credit Insurance raises AED 174m for SME growth; listed
banks partake

UAE – Mubasher: The UAE’s federal export credit company Etihad Credit Insurance (ECI) has secured AED 174
million in funding to support the growth of SMEs, as part of the impact of its Xport Xponential program, according to a
press release.

Four of ECI’s banking partners were part of the fundraising process, including listed banks like First Abu Dhabi
Bank (FAB), Commercial Bank of Dubai (CBD), and Ajman Bank, in addition to the private lender Al Maryah
Community Bank.
Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri, the UAE Minister of Economy and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Etihad
Credit Insurance, stated: “The Xport Xponential program plays a pivotal role in advancing the UAE’s ongoing efforts
to increase the contribution of small and medium-sized enterprises to the country’s non-oil GDP.”
