               Infrastructure engineering software solutions company Bentley Systems has announced the
               acquisition of Cesium, a 3D geospatial software company.

               The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

               This move is expected to enhance Bentley’s iTwin platform by integrating Cesium’s 3D geospatial
               capabilities.

               Cesium’s 3D Tiles open standard is accepted across various sectors, including enterprises and
               governments.

               The company’s software-as-a-service platform, Cesium ion, reaches more than one million active
               devices monthly, and its open-source software has achieved over ten million downloads.

               Cesium CEO Patrick Cozzi said: “Joining Bentley marks an important milestone for Cesium as we
               continue our journey to create the best developer platform for the built and natural environment –
               founded on open standards and open-source technologies.
