The keynote address, “Education and Culture: The Pillars of Women’s Empowerment,” was
delivered by H.H. Sheikha Dr. Shamma bint Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan, Chairperson of the

Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan Cultural and Educational Institutions. She noted that

creativity and innovation are born not in laboratories or offices, but “in the human mind,” shaped
through imagination, critical thinking, and curiosity nurtured from childhood. Highlighting the vital

role of women in cultivating these values, she noted reading as the foundation of both intellectual
and economic progress.

“Reading is the first production line in the factory of the knowledge economy, and women are the

leaders of this invisible yet powerful institution,” she said, adding that every story shared between a
mother and child helps build the creative and innovative minds that will shape the future.
