It works crea�vely and collabora�vely with partners and advocates to mi�gate the impacts of the climate crisis
and promote sustainable prac�ces and climate change adapta�on.

About UAE Universi�es Climate Network

The UAE Universi�es Climate Network (UCN) comprises 37 UAE-based universi�es and higher educa�on
ins�tu�ons working together to drive climate ac�on engagement among youth and academia. NYUAD was the
network chair following an MoU signed in February 2023 by Director-General and Special Representa�ve of
COP28, and NYU Abu Dhabi Vice Chancellor, for the two en��es to collaborate on knowledge-sharing ac�vi�es,
public programming focused on climate ac�on and enhanced youth engagement opportuni�es in the lead up to
COP28. NYUAD’s inaugural chairing of the Universi�es Climate Network (UCN) has been handed over in 2024 to
Khalifa University, the University of Birmingham Dubai, and Ajman University (More can be found on UCN
