Jamal bin Huwaireb stated, "Over the past years, the Knowledge Summit has proven to be a one-of-
its-kind global platform for disseminating insights, ideas, and best practices to enhance knowledge
generation and distribution." He emphasised that this year's summit will address challenges like
developing human skills and exploring AI's role in shaping industries.
The summit aims to align with Dubai's plans to integrate artificial intelligence across sectors. It
seeks to support digital transformation while adapting to global technological shifts. The focus will
be on ensuring readiness for future challenges through innovative solutions.
Bin Huwaireb noted that the summit strengthens Dubai’s status as a hub for knowledge and
innovation. He said it offers opportunities for international collaboration in AI, technology,
entrepreneurship, and knowledge fields. This aligns with efforts to achieve Sustainable
Development Goals by working with UNDP.
A significant event during the summit will be the 3rd UNESCO World Open Educational Resources
Congress. Held in partnership with UNESCO, it marks its first appearance in the Arab world. The
congress will gather ministers, officials, and decision-makers globally to enhance digital
cooperation.
Key Events and Initiatives
The release of the Global Knowledge Index (GKI) 2024 is another highlight of the summit. GKI serves
as a qualitative tool for assessing countries' development strategies by identifying strengths and
areas needing improvement. It also highlights challenges in sustainable development pathways.
The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Award (MBRKA) ceremony will honour
individuals and institutions contributing significantly to humanity's welfare and progress. Success
stories of these contributors will be showcased during this event.
Empowering Future Generations
The inaugural meeting of the 'Global Alliance for Skills Development' is set to occur at the summit
alongside launching the Future Skills Academy. Part of last year’s ‘Knowledge Project,’ this academy
aims to empower Arabs through educational programs enhancing future skills acquisition.
Dr. Hany Torky remarked, "This year’s summit underscores our commitment to supporting
communities in the Arab region in their transition to a more inclusive and sustainable digital future."
He stressed that GKI and Future Skills Academy are vital tools for building resilient economies.
Interactive Sessions and Workshops
The agenda includes interactive sessions featuring prominent speakers from AI, technology,
economy, education, environment sectors among others. Topics such as human intelligence
potential in tech innovation or AI-driven economic policies will be discussed extensively during
these sessions.
This year’s discussions will cover various themes including eco-innovations for sustainability or
strengthening cybersecurity measures alongside exploring AI applications within space exploration
initiatives among other related subjects.
