artistic, architectural, cultural and other fields, and its movement towards the future with a
proactive thought based on science, knowledge and technology.

The new identity emphasizes Sharjah's core strengths, represented in the cultural,
entertainment and economic components that are unique to the emirate, and through
which it seeks to consolidate its position as a major destination for living, tourism and
investment through a range of diverse initiatives and experiences.

Sharjah is known for its rich heritage of cultural, heritage and historical achievements and
manifestations, and its urban development, in addition to its important contribution to
enriching the fields of industry and environmental sustainability in the United Arab
Emirates.

Sharjah has been crowned with many titles and has won many global achievements,
including the title of World Book Capital for the year 2019 by the United Nations
Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The emirate also hosts many
museums, art galleries and cultural centers that embody the authenticity, history, arts and
traditions of the region.

The emirate is witnessing growth in all its sectors and fields, as the GDP growth rate
increased by 5.2% in 2022 to reach about Dhs136.9 billion.

In 2023, Sharjah International Airport received more than 15 million tourists from more than
100 destinations, consolidating the emirate’s tourism and investment position as a major
gateway to the region and beyond.
