HE Dr. Sultan Al Jaber and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida reaffirm the deep ties between the two countries
and their commitment to elevating the relationship to new heights.
Both sides discuss the latest developments in the comprehensive strategic partnership, and the promising
opportunities and areas of cooperation in a number of strategic sectors, including energy, technology, digital
transformation, advanced industries, and finance.
Signing of a number of Memorandums of Understanding including a cooperation between ADNOC and the Japan
Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) on green financing worth $3 billion, as well as a Memorandum of
Cooperation relating to strategic energy reserves between ADNOC and the Japanese Agency for Natural Resources
and Energy.

Both sides discuss the importance of enhancing and sustaining energy security, and the necessity of benefiting from
artificial intelligence solutions and its applications in raising the efficiency of the energy sector and stimulating
sustainable, low-emission economic growth.

HE Dr. Sultan Al Jaber:

The leadership in the UAE is keen on extending and strengthening bridges of communication and cooperation with
the international community to serve sustainable economic and social development. The UAE has been an early
adopter in developing and implementing clean energy projects locally, regionally, and globally.

It is essential to increase investments to meet the growing global demand for energy, and we are pleased to sign a
memorandum of understanding for cooperation between ADNOC and the Japan International Cooperation Agency
for $3 billion in green financing.

HE Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi:

Japan is one of the UAE’s top trading partners worldwide. Non-oil bilateral trade continued to grow in 2023 by
6.1%, reaching $15.6 billion.

Tokyo, 5 July 2024: His Excellency Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, met with
the Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. The meeting was attended by His Excellency Dr. Thani Ahmed Al Zeyoudi,
Minister of State for Foreign Trade, and His Excellency Shihab Al Fahim, UAE Ambassador to Japan. During the
meeting, Dr. Al Jaber conveyed greetings from His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the
UAE, to the Japanese Prime Minister, along with his best wishes for continued progress and prosperity for Japan and its
people. The two sides discussed the latest developments in the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Initiative and the
implementation of joint projects and programs within this framework.

This visit comes as part of the efforts to strengthen the enduring relations between the two friendly countries, and their
aspirations to achieve sustainable economic growth, and to enhance the prospects for joint cooperation and ways to
develop it in various fields, within the framework of the comprehensive strategic partnership initiative that was launched
during the visit of His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and
Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, to Japan in September 2022.

During the visit, His Excellency Dr. Sultan Al Jaber met with Her Excellency Kamikawa Yoko, Japanese Minister of
Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Ken Saito, Minister of Economy, Trade, and Industry, His Excellency Taro Kono,
Minister for Digital Transformation, and Yoshimasa Hayashi, Chief Cabinet Secretary of Japan. Dr. Al Jaber also met with
