Logistics solutions driving regional growth in oil and gas
by a dedicated team of specialists, the company has navigated these complexities to
maintain its reputation as a reliable partner in the industrial sector.
Strategic role of logistics
For Emphor, logistics is a critical pillar of its operations. “Logistics plays a very, very
important role in our industry, particularly because these are all time-bound with
respect to our customers,” emphasised Anantha Narayanan, General Manager of
Emphor.
The nature of their work requires precision and efficiency. Clients in the oil and gas
sectors depend on Emphor to deliver equipment that often has a narrow delivery
window, aligning with planned operational downtimes. Delays in shipments can lead to
extended shutdowns, impacting productivity and escalating costs. To address this,
Emphor has established a dedicated logistics team working around the clock to
manage complex supply chain dynamics.
“We are getting the equipment from outside the UAE, and logistics plays a vital role for
us,” Narayanan explained. By coordinating shipments and managing uncertainties, the
team ensures that equipment arrives at the right place and time, supporting smooth
operations for their clients.
Overcoming challenges in the market
Navigating logistics in the Middle East presents unique challenges, from geopolitical
uncertainties to the complexity of regional supply chains. For Emphor, overcoming
these obstacles requires a combination of advanced planning, technology, and
dedicated resources. “There is a lot of uncertainty which is also happening—many ships
are being rerouted due to regional challenges,” said Narayanan, highlighting the
unpredictable nature of global and regional logistics.
Technology plays an increasingly important role in Emphor’s logistics strategy. The
company leverages software solutions to streamline processes and provide real-time
visibility into shipments. This not only helps reduce delays, but also supports the
broader goal of maintaining time-bound delivery schedules critical to industrial
shutdown periods.
Despite their proactive measures, challenges persist. The reliance on external suppliers
and the need for timely delivery often place pressure on the supply chain. However,
Narayanan remains optimistic, noting that the company is well-equipped to handle
these issues, “You have to adjust to what is required, and I think the way it’s going is in
the right direction.”
