The UAE’s travel and tourism sector achieved a historic milestone in 2024, contributing
Dhs257.3 billion ($70.1 billion) to the national GDP, according to a new report by the World
Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC). This accounts for 13% of the entire UAE economy.
This performance marks a 3.2% rise compared to 2023 and a staggering 26% jump from pre-
pandemic levels in 2019. The growth reflects the country’s strategic focus on tourism as a
pillar of economic diversification.
