Economy, and Geraldine Picaud, CEO of SGS Gulf Limited, the MoU sets a framework

for collaboration in verifying consumer complaints, promoting sound business practices,

and fostering a safer purchasing environment.

The signing ceremony was attended by key figures including Swiss Ambassador Arthur

Mattli and senior SGS representatives, reflecting the agreement’s international

significance.

Al Saleh emphasized that the partnership aligns with the Ministry’s broader strategy to

reinforce regulatory frameworks and support the competitiveness of the UAE’s business

environment.

“This milestone enhances the effectiveness of consumer

protection while also stimulating economic growth and

trade,”

he noted.

As part of the MoU, both parties will roll out awareness programs targeting the food and
beverage, cosmetics, and general consumer product sectors. These initiatives will extend

to educational institutions to cultivate a culture of product safety among youth.

SGS will also handle inspections, product testing, and complaint verification—particularly

for sensitive items like baby food and cosmetics—using its advanced laboratories and

global best practices.
