"This project strengthens passenger safety, enhances the travel experience, and reinforces Dubai's
reputation as a global aviation hub," he said.
This project forms part of Dubai’s broader strategy for intelligent airport transformation, said DAEP
The rollout, starting soon, will see the installation of advanced HI-SCAN 6040 CTiX Model-S
computed tomography (CT) scanners.
What does this mean for passengers?
The biggest change is that passengers will no longer need to remove electronics like laptops or
liquids from their carry-on bags at the security checkpoint.
These scanners use high-resolution 3D imaging, allowing security personnel to get a detailed look
inside travellers bag without them having to unpack. This technology, already certified by
international bodies like the US's Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and European Civil
Aviation Conference (ECAC), is designed to significantly speed up the security process and reduce
queues, making your journey through the airport more convenient.
