UAE’s economy expands by 3.6% in H1 2024, driven by non-oil growth
Non-oil sectors contribute 75%; transport and storage are fastest-growing industries

Transportation and storage activities led economic growth in the first half of 2024, with an
impressive 8.4% growth rate.

Dubai: The value of UAE’s real GDP (at constant prices) hit Dh879.6 billion in the first half of
2024, recording an increase of 3.6 per cent. Moreover, the value of the non-oil GDP during the same
period was approximately Dh660 billion, with a growth of 4.4 per cent, compared to the same
period last year. With this, the contribution of non-oil sectors to the country’s GDP has reached 75
per cent, said Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, the UAE Minister of Economy, citing data issued by the
Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre.
