“Gleaming emeralds, rings of aquamarine
Silver coins, and mirrors adorned
with gold filigree
Once on a sea ship, now treasured
by a lonesome octopus….
Who, too used to the ocean’s splendors,
Values most her humanly treasure.
So she hides them away
in her meticulous pattern,
While turquoise waves gleam in
sunlight above her cavern…
Although priceless diamonds glitter among
golden broaches and rubies,
I most treasure my love for the sea’s eternal beauties…”
