               Pygmalion and Raphaël Pichon's
Mozart Requiem with a twist proved
our most popular title last month, after
winning praise from The Times for the
'fiercely eloquent singing' of the crack
French ensemble and being described as
'real breath of fresh air' by Limelight
               Magazine. Pichon uses the familiar
Süssmayr completion of the Mass, but
               intersperses its movements with
               fragments and shorter works from
earlier in Mozart's life which prefigure
               ideas developed in the Requiem.

               Alison Balsom's collection of Baroque
concerti with Trevor Pinnock and his
players on Warner also proved popular, as
did Igor Levit's recording of the Brahms
piano concertos with the Wiener Philharmoniker and Christian Thielemann on Sony,
and Marc-André Hamelin's jaw-dropping account of the Hammerklavier Sonata on Hyperion.
And a clutch of older Hyperion titles (from artists including Hamelin, Alina Ibragimova,
Stephen Hough and Steven Osborne) gained a second or even third wind thanks to our huge
ongoing label sale, which offers discounts of up to 60% and runs until 27th November.
