        Worst thing about turning 60?

Things are falling off. I get disco injuries now. My knee goes and I’ve just been diagnosed
with osteoarthritis and that’s put my hip out. I get tired more, and I’ve put weight on and can’t
        seem to get it off.

        Worst moment as a DJ?

I turned up at one festival and they’d forgotten to book the decks. They said “Haven’t you brought
your own?” and I said “that’s not how it works, I’m not a mobile disco”. Some kid who lived round
the corner had a little miniature toy set and they said “Can you play on these?”

        Worst moment on live radio?
I managed to say f--- twice in a sentence on Radio 2. I have said “funk and soul” a million times,
but I said “This is Craig Charles with the f--- and soul show”, and then said “I do apologise, I’m
sure you realise I meant to say f---“. They had to put a warning saying “contains foul language”
        on BBC Sounds.

        Worst embarrassing moment?

I was in a play called Madmen And Specialists and, for the last act, I was dead on a gurney and the
rest of the cast were around me in mourning. The review said that it was all going swimmingly well
until the corpse I was playing started snoring…

        The absolute worst

Middle class foods. Avocados are the most overrated thing in the world. Sourdough annoys me as
well, what’s wrong with normal bread? Bring back Angel Delight, Heinz Ravioli and Findus Crispy
Pancakes, that’s what we’re talking about.
