Joe Cutler ‘Concerto Grosso’ Shortlisted for

Royal Philharmonic Society Award

Joe Cutler’s ‘Concerto Grosso’ has been shortlisted in the
category of Large-Scale Composition for the RPS Awards 2023.

We are so delighted that Joe Cutler’s recent work Concerto Grosso has been shortlisted for an
RPS Award in the Large-Scale Composition category this year. The piece was also shortlisted for
an Ivor Novello Award in autumn 2022.

Commissioned by Sage Gateshead, Concerto Grosso was written for the Royal Northern
Sinfonia combined with RNS Moves – a unique, inclusive ensemble which brings together
musicians with and without disabilities to rehearse and perform at Sage Gateshead. The
premiere in March 2022 was the first time that RNS Moves performed alongside the Royal
Northern Sinfonia.

The RPS Awards take place at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London on Wednesday 1 March
