Along with BBC NOW, performers will include the acclaimed mezzo soprano
Marta Fontanals-Simmons, Welsh bass baritone Paul Carey Jones, Conductor Jac
van Steen and Welsh writer, singer and comedian Carys Eleri will be reading an
original story to be told between the movements of the Grace Williams ‘Four
Illustrations for the Legend of Rhiannon’.
Sassy Hicks, Head of Marketing at BBC NOW said: “St David’s Day is always a
cherished occasion for us in Wales and we are all excited to be performing this
concert to celebrate our national day. This concert will fuse contemporary and
traditional music connected to Wales and promises to be an uplifting and joyous
occasion!”
