An update on Guildhall School Spring

               Season of events.

Due to the recently updated government guidance and the country’s move into lockdown,
Guildhall School’s teaching has moved online until at least 22 February, and some changes
have been made to its planned Spring Season of events.

The four live-streamed Drama productions – Anne Washburn’s Mr. Burns, a post-electric play,
Bola Agbaje’s Gone Too Far!, Caryl Churchill’s Love and Information and Maxim
Gorky’s Barbarians – have been postponed until the Summer 2021 season.

However, Guildhall School is delighted that Acting and Production Arts students will present
a series of self-led solo performances and a contemporary play project filmed in lockdown,
which will be shared for free via the School’s website. More information about these
projects and other production activity this term will be released soon.

Unfortunately no public broadcasts of Guildhall School musical events can take place until
late-February at the earliest. Music students will continue their learning remotely, and
Opera and Production Arts students will proceed with work on Jonathan Dove’s opera The
Little Green Swallow, with updates to follow in due course.

The School looks forward to resuming its public broadcast series as soon as possible, and
until then it aims to share lots of exciting content from the Guildhall community to enjoy
online. The Research Works seminars and Real Talk conversation series will continue online
               as planned.

A selection of highlights from the Autumn Season of events are now available to watch again
on Guildhall School’s YouTube channel, with more videos being added over the coming
               weeks.

Guildhall School appreciates your support and understanding in these difficult times, and
looks forward to welcoming staff, students and audiences back to the School as soon as it is
               safe to do so.
