Evans added: “Bluebeard’s Castle is one of my all-time favourite operas,

and I always understood Bluebeard’s music was filled with intense love and

devotion. I want to tell this tale not as a gothic nightmare, but as a love
story, while also increasing awareness and understanding around the power

of music for people living with dementia."

Theatre of Sound is also partnering with Live Music Now to facilitate a

creative participation programme called Judith’s Castle.

The programme will see new work created in collaboration with families

living with dementia, featuring musicians from Live Music Now and the

London Sinfonietta, presented on the set of Bluebeard’s Castle at Stone

Nest.

There will also be dementia-friendly performances of Bluebeard’s Castle

and a series of talks from specialists in dementia care, with further details

to be announced.
