Vicky
Dearest Perima, wish you a very happy landmark birthday!
Whenever I have thought of you ever since I was a child, your and Peripa's
home was a place to come and get new sensory experiences, the cat that used to
roam around near the back of the house (another one that bit me when I
cornered it, and I had to get an injection), the smell of lovely handcooked
South Indian food, the treasure trove of Hot Stuff and Richie rich comics that
Peripa used to unlock on the top floor in the old house from within an old
trunk!! Ranjeet and I have so many precious and fond memories.
What has always amazed me is that your enthusiasm to learn new things and
that too speedily...and the thing you do even faster than that is cook, and that
too delicious food, new contemporary recipes, all that with such grace and a
quiet disposition...I used to think Sowmya and my dietary restrictions would
pose some difficulty for you, but you came up with sweets made with Vellam
and without milk or wheat too! Truly inspirational you are Perima because
such feats even to ones a lot younger than yourself, would be a mountain to
climb! You are one of the original towering personalities of RC Family, and
someone we all learn from in so many different ways, for which we are always
grateful!Wish you many many more happy and healthy birthdays, and we wait
to meet you during our next visit to Chennai!
