A more comprehensive year-to-date average price was determined to be $332,819, which indicated a 7.4% rise from
             the first nine months of 2019. The Canadian Real Estate Association reported 530 new residential listings in September
             2020 which demonstrated a 6% increase year-over-year.

             Active residential listings numbered 1,963 units at the end of September. This was down 20.7% from the end of
             September 2019. The BC Northern Real Estate Board reminds potential buyers their board covers 600,000 square
             kilometers or 72% of the province and that geographical vastness is just as wide as the housing selection. The board
             has 390 REALTORS® covering the northern part of British Columbia, including Bulkley Nechako, Cariboo, Fraser Fort
             George, Peace River/Fort Nelson, and Skeena/Queen Charlottes.
             Where to live

             Terrace appeals to both growing families and retirees. A larger regional population (12,660) has settled here due to
             the amenities (medical, educational and transportation) and tourism industry.
             The city’s educational services include French Immersion and Francophone schools, two Christian Academies, public
             and Catholic schools, Coast Mountain College and the University of Northern British Columbia.
             The area is serviced by BC Transit and has extensive bus routes travelling as far as Kitimat,  to the south. Walkers,
             cyclists and joggers alike will appreciate the extensive trails for leisure and commuting.

             In 2019, the City of Terrace, the province and Ksan House Society partnered to provide more affordable housing to the
             northwest community. At Stone Ridge Estates, the low-income three-storey apartment building provides 45 rental
             units with rates between $595 and $875. Sonder House offers 52 units of supportive housing to help alleviate the
             housing crisis in the area.

             What to do
             The wall murals in  Terrace amaze and
             educate.  The annual Skeena Salmon Art
             Festival (August) elevates the importance
             of salmon via the work of local artists. In
             addition  to  galleries  like  the  Red  Raven
             and  Terrace Art Gallery, local coffee shop
             displays and the Freda Diesling School of
             Indigenous Art (at Coast Mountain College)
             are necessary stops.The Ferry Island
             Campground and Nature Park is just 3.5
             km from downtown Terrace on the Skeena
             River. The 150-acre park has 103 campsites
             and a 4.5 km trail doubling as an outdoor
             gallery.  There are more than 55 carvings
             hidden in the Enchanted Forest trees courtesy of local artists.

             Step back in time at the Heritage Park Museum. Check out the former Kalum Lake Hotel and old miners’ and trappers’
             split-cedar log cabins built between 1910-1935. The collection of 4,000 artifacts will satisfy the curiosity of all ages.
