opportunities for Change the World of Mathematics – Sow
a Seed. This theme is carried throughout the full selection of
                                     more than 150 sessions.

Columbia, South Carolina is the place to be November 14 – 16, 2018 for
inspired mathematics professional learning and collaboration! Our planning
committee has assembled a magnificent variety of sessions and opportunities
focused on Change the World of Mathematics – Sow a Seed. Just as NCTM
has been encouraging us for decades to help students make connections
between mathematical topics, connections between mathematics and other
disciplines, and connections between mathematics and their everyday lives, the
SCCTM Conference Planning Committee encourages you to make connections
with the many professionals who come together in Columbia to strengthen our
community of mathematics educators in the Palmetto State, and beyond.

Keynote speakers, Luke Dollar, Robert Berry III, Matt Larson, Laurie
Boswell, and Eric Milou all bring particular expertise in developing and
enhancing Professional Development and Change by Sowing a Seed. During
the conference you will discover how to improve your connections with
colleagues all year long so that mathematical Seeds are Sown across South
Carolina for the ultimate benefit of our students throughout the Palmetto State.

The SCCTM Board is excited that you are attending the conference, and
after communicating with so many of you by email, I look forward to being able to
welcome you in person. During the conference, you will learn from others as
others learn from you. The ultimate goal is to build a strong, reflective, critical,
engaged community of mathematics educators who are all willing to Sow a Se ed ,
across South Carolina – including you! The
SCCTM Board is excited to Sow a Seed with you
as we share our passions and commitment to
the students and families we all serve.

                 Mathematically Yours,
