EC Limited (formerly Rural Electrification Corporation Limited) is a
Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under Ministry of Power.
RIncorporated on July 25, 1969, the company focuses on Power Sector
Financing and Development across India.
It provides financial assistance to state electricity boards, state governments,
central/state power utilities, independent power producers, rural electric
cooperatives and private sector utilities. It’s business activities involve
Financing Generation, Transmission, Distribution Projects, and Renewable
Energy projects across the entire power sector value chain.
A listed NBFC with a net worth of Rs. 35,077 Crore and a loan book of Rs.
3,22,425 Crore as on 31st March 2020, REC mobilizes funds from various
sources including raising of funds from domestic and international agencies
and extending loans to the State/Central, Private Power utilities, State
Government and Private Power Developers.
