Ontario Science Centre OMNIMAX Theatre Market Assessment (2018)
This project was to examine the design, market and financial implications of modernizing the OMNIMAX theatre operation at the Ontario Science Centre to a digital platform, from its existing 70mm analogue operation. This would enable a much wider variety and range of presentations, including a planetarium-oriented offering. We worked closely with Oberleitner Associates, a US-based theatre consulting firm specializing in film and cinema (including IMAX operations), as well as Reich+ Petch Architects.
Parks Canada – Signal Hill and Cape Spear Revenue Generation Study (2018)
Working with D.W. Knight Associates, TCI participated in a review of revenue generation strategies for two iconic National Historic Sites: Signal Hill and Cape Spear, the most easterly point in North America. The project involved a review of revenue generation activities in other Parks Canada and similar sites elsewhere, and the development of potential strategies to generate additional monies from existing and potential users. Frameworks for ‘risk management’ and ‘benefits assessment’ were also developed as key tools for Parks Canada staff to utilize as they assessed the suggested strategies further.

Diefenbunker Visitor Centre Feasibility Study (2019)
With Reich+Petch, TCI is involved in an assessment of the feasibility of an above-ground Visitor Centre for the Diefenbunker, Canada’s Cold War Museum. (As essentially a bomb shelter facility, the 120,000 sq. ft. bunker is below ground, and has very limited visibility as well as ground-level amenities). This project is currently underway, due for completion by early summer 2019.
