Strategic Plan, Master Plan
The area is a primary trip motivator for tourism and, as such, is part of Bruce County’s economic development picture, bringing both visitors and new residents to the community.
The BCM&CC establishes viability on expanded public footing and meets the challenge of remaining financially feasible at a high operating level. This is accomplished through a process of research and community consultations.
This Plan plan fully engages the various ‘publics’ and expands program partners and corporate sponsors with the potential to attract public audiences within the community and the region, including London, Kitchener and the Greater Toronto Area.
The Bruce County Museum & Cultural Centre (BCM&CC) has served the people of the County of Bruce since 1955. BCM&CC serves the resident population, which is more than six years older than the population of the Province of Ontario as a whole.
Bruce County is home to the Chippewas of Nawash at Cape Croker on the Bruce Peninsula, and the Saugeen First Nation #29, adjacent to the Museum’s site.
The Museum provides cultural, educational, and community-based programs and events for local patrons while simultaneously serving the region through the repository for the archives of Bruce County, providing ongoing services to researchers and genealogists from the local area and beyond.
Reich&Petch assisted in developing the Bruce County Museum &
Cultural Centre’s five-year Strategic Plan (2015-2020), while taking into consideration elements of Bruce County heritage by maintaining a vibrant series of museum exhibits, continuing good working relationships with historical and cultural societies in the region and providing a meeting place to celebrate social history, learn about the natural history and explore many subjects of public interest.
