- Part of the Heritage, Arts and Culture Division for the City of Summerside
- Assists with year-round community programming under the guidance of our Head Cultural Programmer
(research, marketing, organizing, implementing) which includes the Summerside Arts Festival, Lobster Carnival, Concerts in the Garden, Olde Fashioned Carnival, Historic Ghostwalk, the Draw of Art Fundraiser, School Christmas Program, Mayor’s Heritage Tea and Awards, Flag Day at community schools, rotating art exhibits and many other events and programs throughout the year. Programming high-profile city events means collaboration with designers, external contractors, committees and the business community.
- Assists with administrative responsibilities, including record keeping, finance records, reports, evaluations and grant writing.
- Oversees summer student employment, which includes grant writing, training and supervising of summer staff (usually a staff of 7).
- Assists with collection management and oversees contract staff. Trains staff for collection work, proper artifact handing, accessioning, deaccessioning, preventative conservation
- Provides historical presentations for the public, community groups and school groups.
- Provides high quality, dynamic interpretive tours of museum sites.
- Handles tour bookings of museum sites and rentals (weddings, business meetings, etc)
- Oversees the communications of our department including multiple social media accounts, websites,
radio, print, etc. Liaison with other City departments, community groups and local businesses.

- Curated, designed and installed multiple feature exhibits, including the Stratford Festival inspired “To Kill a Mockingbird” exhibit. Conducted interviews, research and planned exhibit reception. Interacted with media including newspaper journalists and live on-air interviews. Co-curated the internationally recognized exhibit “Justin Bieber: Steps to Stardom”. Collaborated with Justin Bieber, his manager, Def Jam Records, his family and community members. Specially created and installed the audio-visual components and interactive elements.
- Project management lead for complete museum evaluation with special emphasis on analyzing safety, accessibility and inclusivity. Organized summer staff and worked with volunteers to make improvements. Improved accessibility for visitors by creating large print gallery guides, improving signage and providing more interactive elements for people of all ages and abilities.
