At the end of the general opening session, TLOD, Inc. was presented with a check in the amount of $100,000.00
from the Houston Endowment Foundation!!! The check was presented by Lady Jackie Pope, 11th National Presi-
dent of Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc. who was instrumental in procuring the grant through her contacts at City
Hall. The grant is restricted to activities/programs related to Top Teens of America. Thank you Lady Jackie!!!!

After the general session, a reception was held for the honorees and later, members dispersed to go to the Casino,
Game Night and/or the Dinner Shuttle. A great night was had by all!!

On Saturday, Parliamen-Top was officially opened. Highlights were:

 Capital Campaign was reignited and members were asked to make pledges to continue the quest for funds to
    build TLOD's headquarters in five years;

 As a result of TLOD having a month-to-month lease, a new headquarters site was voted on unanimously for a
    term of 5 years that did not result in an increase in dues;

 Dr. Pernessa Seele was voted unanimously for honorary membership and she, along with Dr. Glenda Glover,
    has accepted. They will be inducted at Syn-Lod;

 Area Directors and/or their designees will continue to do inductions;
 White and/or off white was adopted as the color for rituals requiring white;
 The Community Partnership Committee reported that $24,000.00 was generated for chapters through the raf-

    fle sponsored by Bayway Lincoln. This is where the chapters sold raffle tickets and kept the money in their
    chapters. Lady Joyce Jacquet was responsible for this endeavor. Hopefully, we can do this again. Thank you
    Lady Joyce!!
 The HBCU Gala was a rousing success and chapters/areas were encouraged to do this as a fundraiser for their
    chapter/area. Congrats to Lady Jackie Pope for chairing this event;
 The A-TEAAM recruited additional chapters for their enrichment program for young men. For additional
    information, contact Lady Peggy Lewis LeCompte, National Coordinator or Lady Audrie Lawton, National
    Consultant;
 The blazer color was voted on and the color is gray/silver. Vendors have been asked to send in bids. Info
    will be forthcoming at the Area Conferences.
 For the 2017 Syn-Lod only, TTA Advisors/Assistants/Chaperones will pay the same registration as Top
    Teens of America;
 Future conference sites are: Syn-Lod 2017 - St. Louis, MO; Parliamen-Top 2017 - Atlanta, GA; Parliamen-
    Top 2018 - Las Vegas, NV; and Syn-Lod 2019 - Atlanta, GA.

Much more occurred, but you will have to come to Atlanta, GA to join in the fun! Moving on to FUN NIGHT!!!
Michael Jackson and Prince rolled over in their graves or ashes or whatever. We had one Prince and three Michael
Jacksons and they were da bomb!! Lady Nichole Dodd was Prince Purple Rain), Ladies Shanita Akintonde and
Janie Cooper were Michael (Smooth Criminal), and Lady Rose Coker was Michael (Billie Jean). It was the
BEST!!!! These Ladies pulled out all of the stops. They were all so good, we gave them all 1st place medals. All I
got to say is, you had to be there. There was also a contest for best costume. Lady Dorothy Fisher won for her
Michael Jackson costume. Again, you had to be there. Thanks to Ladies Oteal Wyatt Gilmore and Tonia
Humphrey for a splendid FUN NIGHT!!!!!

Thanks to the Registration Team - Ladies Mamie Hughes and Adrianne Mann, Co-Chairmen - and their helpers -
Ladies Dorothy Fisher, Karen Dilligard, Kymeish Gaston and the Ladies in Waiting from the Will County Black

These ladies had a table full of TLOD wares and by the end of the day, they had almost sold out. We are so sorry
