Before the pandemic, my daughters’ daily routine was a
well-oiled machine run on school, after-school sports and
music lessons. Like everyone, the machine came to a
grinding halt with COVID-19 and everyone in our home was
left disoriented, sad and worried. Patience, flexibility and
keeping things fun, have helped us cope during the
work-from-home period. Though not a superhero quality,
when my kids jump on my TEAMS calls, patience and flexibility
have allowed me to adjust, redirect and maintain focus, despite
the distraction and interruption. Harnessing the resources at
NBCUniversal have also helped us to keep things fun. During the
Trolls premiere, we created a “red carpet” experience for our
kids with tools provided by the company. This made watching the
movie on TV an eventful and memorable experience, especially for
the kids. With all that said, I could not manage the work-from-
home challenges without my resourceful wife, who has provided
much-needed relief when my patience and flexibility were tested,
and has made this difficult situation extremely rewarding.
