COMMUNITY AND PARTNERS
COLLABORATION AND CONNECTION
Our partners and supporters are a vital part of our community.
In 2020 our partners showed enormous support and flexibly during very uncertain times. Our achievements throughout the year could not have
been realised without their unwavering support. It allowed us to lean into our expertise and deliver the learning needed to children across Australia.
To our all of friends, partners and supporters – thank you.
The a2Milk Company |
Connecting Communities during Children’s Week and beyond
We acknowledged the joy, creativity and community that the Arts brings to students in a Children’s Week celebration. COVID-19 gave us the opportunity to connect schools from around the country for the first time in an online event to share student’s learning in 2020.
The concert included a national Virtual Choir, inspiring stories from Tyabb Railway Station Primary School with principal Emma Slater and her students, and we were joined by The a2 Milk CEO APAC, Peter Nathan, who recognised and celebrated the important work that we have been able to do over the last four years thanks to our partnership with The a2 Milk company.
We are incredibly grateful to them for their ongoing support of The Song Room and ARTS:LIVE.
JB Hi-Fi | Team culture and contribution
JB Hi-Fi has been in partnership with The Song Room since 2008 through its award-winning Helping Hands workplace giving program. Helping Hands encourages their workforce to donate to their chosen charity through regular payroll deductions – with each and every donation matched by JB Hi-Fi it doubles the impact of Arts Learning programs delivered by The Song Room.
During 2020 the contribution received from the Helping Hands program was over $200,000 which enabled us to deliver The Song Room programs to
a broad range of disadvantaged schools nationally including rural and remote areas
of Australia.
Guitars Gathering Dust |
Overcoming the language barriers
The Song Room and Guitars Gathering Dust have been working together for over two years, providing pre-loved guitars to children who
may otherwise miss out on music education opportunities. In December we delivered 20 refurbished guitars
to students at Collingwood English Language School’s Craigieburn Campus to ensure students have access to quality instruments and can continue with their music education beyond their Song Room program.
22 THE SONG ROOM: 2020 YEAR IN REVIEW
We are incredibly proud of the impact these partnerships are having on the more vulnerable members of our community. The Song Room has partnered with us since Helping Hands began and we are honoured to support their music and arts programs across Australia.” RICHARD MURRAY, CEO JB Hi-Fi
