CAPACITY BUILDING
Commencing a 5-year capacity building project funded by The Ian Potter Foundation, The Song Room strengthened its strategic plan, leadership capacity and team engagement including team evaluations and a remuneration review for staff and Teaching Artists.
Delivered 29 Song Room Professional Development sessions to support Teachers and Teaching Artists.
Worked with expert facilitators Berry Street Training and Rhythm 2 Recovery Facilitator Training to provide professional learning in trauma informed teaching practices and social and emotional skill development.
Launched The Song Room’s new website to communicate expertise, leadership and commitment to best practice arts education.
Travelled to the Katherine region of Northern Territory to better understand the operating, educational and funding context for programs delivered in remote communities through support from Communities for Children Facilitating Partner, The Smith Family, Katherine.
Scoped replication of the Deadly Arts program in regional and metro Victoria with support from the Helen Macpherson Smith Trust.
The Philanthropy team attended the Philanthropy Australia conference 2022 and took part in a professional development workshops help by Australian Philanthropy Network, Fundraising Institute of Australia and Creative Partnerships Australia.
