VACCINATIONS AND HEALTH
Tourists from Europe and the United States do not need a vaccination certi cate.
CUSTOMS AND IMMIGRATION
European, American and Canadian citizens do not need a visa to enter Antigua. You will need a passport and a return or onward ticket. On landing you will have to ll in a landing card, a copy of which must be handed in to immigration on your departure.
The duty-free allowance is 200 cigarettes, one bottle of spirits and personal possessions. Animals may not enter without rst going through quarantine.
ON ARRIVAL: TAXIS - CAR RENTALS - CASH
You can rent a car at one of the car rental companies at the airport or take a taxi. Taxi fares are xed and are shown at the taxi stand.
DRIVING LICENCE
To hire a car or motorbike you must be over 21 and have held a driving licence for at least a year. You will need to obtain a local licence which will cost you EC$50, or US$20, either from the police or from your car hire company. Remember to drive on the left and that most cars are right- hand drive. Most of the roads on the island are narrow and winding with few signs and sidewalks.
CURRENCY
The of cial currency is the East Caribbean Dollar (EC$). One US dollar is usually changed at around EC$2.60. However, as the Caribbean is an area of strong American in uence, you can also use US currency.
