State pensando ad Antigua come location per il vostro matrimonio? Ecco alcune cose da sapere. La cerimonia viene celebrata dall’uf ciale di stato civile fra le ore 6 e le 20 presso il Palazzo di Giustizia o nel luogo che avrete scelto. È anche possibile sposarsi in chiesa, chiedendo l’autorizzazione dell’autorità ecclesiastica locale e bisognerà seguire un breve corso pre nuziale. Il matrimonio stipulato sull’isola, che dovrà avvenire alla presenza di due testimoni, ha validità legale e la richiesta di licenza matrimoniale va inoltrata al Palazzo di Giustizia, che la rilascerà in vostra presenza, dietro pagamento di una tassa di circa 200 dollari USA e senza lunghe attese.

Single: a declaration signed in Antigua
Divorced: original divorce decree
Widowed: original marriage and death certi cates Application form
(Completed at the Ministry of Legal Affairs) Fees: Registration fee: US$40 (paid at the High Court, Government Complex, Queen Elizabeth Highway)
Application fee (special licence): US$150
The Marriage Of cer fee is US$100.
Legal Requirement
Both parties must be over 15. If under age 18, written authorisation from parents or guardians is required. It is important that all documents presented are original or certi ed original by the issuing departments or of ces. All documents must be in the legal name and provide af davits or deed poll in cases where the bride or groom is known by another name. The Ministry of Legal Affairs is open Monday to Thursday, 8.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. and on Fridays from 8.30 a.m. to 3 p.m T. (268) 562 0381.
All documents not in English must be translated by a certi ed translator of the subjects’ language and notarised.
