Exploring Antigua with Hike Caribbean
The trade winds make sailing fun for beginners and more experienced sailors. You can play around in a Sun sh in a protected bay or charter a bareboat to explore the coastline. Boat charters may be arranged through your hotel or through one of the marinas. Try Ondeck in English Harbour, Dockyard Drive (T. 562-6696) who specialise in exclusive private charters.
For sailing enthusiasts why not join the Antigua Yacht Club on a weekly or monthly temporary membership giving the option of sailing their Laser and Sport 16 eets or taking sailing lessons from experienced instructors (T. 460-1799). On the waterfront on Dockyard Drive is the National Sailing Academy, an accredited RYA (Royal Yachting Association) Training Centre where visitors are welcomed onto certi ed courses. There is a water sports centre and accommodation at The Lodge. www.thelodgeantigua.com
