Language Focus

           We can use the present perfect to talk about a past action that has a connection to the present.

           have/has + the past participle form of the verb

           You’ve* lost weight. (I can see that you look thinner.)
           She’s** dyed her hair. (I can see that her hair is a diff erent colour.)
           Has she gone out?  (I don’t see her now.)

           *you’ve = you have         **she’s = she has

         present result on the right.
          Use contracted forms (e.g. he’s, she’s) where possible.
