P. 5
Message From The Chairman & CEO
In 2021/2022, we were able to maintain consistent business and offer regular supplies by leveraging new supply
chains for our products.
We have recruited an additional 60 resellers during the reporting period, which will translate into higher revenues.
In an uncertain market, we have been able to provide stability and growth. This has resulted in team confidence,
higher productivity and the retention of skills in key areas of our business.
Additionally, our Health & Wellness initiatives are encouraging healthier lifestyles for all our employees. We have
an Xperien gym, a cycling club, and a ‘fruit a day’ programme.
Also, a mental health councillor has been made available because we believe that the mental wellbeing of our
team is part and parcel of a successful company.
At the start of 2020, we embarked on acquiring SERI R2v3 certification for Information Technology Asset Disposal
(ITAD) and have since obtained it. Receiving this certification acknowledges that we practice the highest
standards of environmental, health and safety, and security protocols when recycling end-of-life electronics.
This certification has also allowed us to conduct more business with companies that are stringent on responsible
recycling, data protection and the destination of eWaste.
Xperien is also ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certified. The International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO)
develops international standards to facilitate world trade through the provision of common standards for
nations.
Our ISO 9001 certification ensures that the quality of our products and services consistently meet our customers’
expectations
Our ISO 14001 certification guarantees that all of our operations are run in an environmentally-sustainable way,
with an emphasis on limiting waste and protecting the environment.
Our ISO 45001 certification prioritises the prevention of work-related injury and ill-health and the provision of safe
and healthy workplaces.
We intend to implement the ISO 29100 Privacy Framework control during the coming reporting period. This will
ensure that all of our critical operations are covered by ISO standards.
Xperien’s turnover grew by 32% from R69 million to R102 million. This was due to supply chain improvements and
the establishment of new markets for our products. This helped our gross profit grow by 26% from R25 million to
R34 million.
Our priority for the year ahead is focusing on efficiency and maintaining the existing trajectory of growth in
revenue and profits.
Expanding our business both locally and on the African continent is another key priority. We are building a
remarkable team that will promote the adoption of professional ITAD and refurbished IT products.
In 2022/2023, we will improve our sustainability initiatives and reporting in compliance with the Sustainability
Accounting Standards Board (SASB)
