agreements with other labor unions in Palestine. In the settlement arena,
Pai was involved in establishing workers tenements by the local chapters,
purchase of lands for the establishment of settlements independent of
the Zionist movement, formation of groups of workers into an active
settlement core, and finding economic solutions for settlements. Yet, the
collective settlement of Pai was a fulfillment of the aspiration to establish an
independent religious settlement, while the socialist motive was secondary.
