GEA completes new Bock HAe series
GEA RECENTLY OUTLINED the benefits of its new HA44e compressor for low temperature applications.
As part of continuous optimization, the new semi-hermetic air-cooled HA44e compressors, based on the suction gas-cooled compressor technology of the GEA Bock HG44e series, will replace the proven HA4 compressor series.
Together with the already optimized HA22e and HA34e series, the HA44e compressors now complete the new GEA Bock HAe series.
The current program offers 3 model sizes with 10 capacity stages from 11.1 to 57.7 m3/h (50 Hz). Low-temperature applications place greater demands on compressors. In this application the refrigerant mass flow is smaller and is heated up
disproportionately by the drive motor.
This results in higher discharge gas and oil temperatures. The oil ages more quickly and the lubrication properties deteriorate. The “HA prin- ciple” (Hermetic Air-Cooled) of air-cooled com-
pressors, specially developed by GEA, is the most efficient semi-hermetic solution for low- temperature applications, the company said.
It employs a direct-suction compressor com- bined with an air-cooled drive motor. The suc- tion gas is not heated additionally, but rather fed directly into the cylinders without diversions via the motor.
A compact ventilation unit is integrated to cool the motor and provide air flow for the cyl- inder heads, partially cooling them as well. This solution reduces the discharge tempera- ture, increasing capacity and extending the range of applications.
The air-cooled HA principle results in lower discharge temperature, which is particularly advantageous in operation with new low GWP transition R404A replacement refriger- ants, according to GEA product manager, Dalibor Sandor.
“This series also offers higher efficiency, espe-

cially compared to compressor models that are forced to use liquid injection for gas cooling,” Sandor explains.
“GEA’s efficient and sustainable energy con- cepts offer solutions with short payback periods that aim to reduce the total cost of ownership and CO2 emissions of their customers.”
Contractors
Being able to look after client cool rooms, fridges, freezers and air conditioning from your own computer, saves you hours of driving and gives your customers peace of mind.
T-TEC
All that is needed is T-TEC wireless data logger to monitor the asset and a T-TEC gateway at the site with access to the WiFi and the internet.

AMS distribution deal
VICTORIAN-BASED AMS INSTRUMENTATION & Calibration Pty Ltd has announced a new partnership with Dutch company Bronkhorst High.
In a joint statement, they said AMS will the the official distributor for Bronkhurst products in Australia.
“With many years experience in the field of instrumentation and calibration equipment, AMS will be an excellent partner for the repre- sentation of Bronkhorst, introducing their Mass Flow and Pressure Measurement and Control Equipment in Australia and providing tech- nical and logistical support for these products,” the statement said.
Bronkhurst has an extensive product range of thermal, Coriolis and ultrasonic flow meters and controllers for low flow rates of gases and liq- uids. “Our flow instruments are used for a variety of applications in labo- ratory, machinery, industrial and hazardous areas,” the company said.
The Bronkhorst Calibration Centre (BCC) has been accredited as ISO 17025 compliant by the Dutch Accreditation Council (RvA).
Bronkhorst has subsidiary offices for sales and support in Great Brit- ain, France, Northern Germany, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Japan, China, Taiwan, South Korea and the United States.
