✷ HOW IT WORKS HYDRATION
UNLOCKED
PREPD is a two-part system: PREPD Prime and PREPD Recover. Prime is taken six to 18 hours before a heavy training session or race. Recover is taken immediately after the event to quickly replenish fluid and electrolytes, thus boosting rehydration.
The product uses a unique resistant starch which is key in promoting gut hydration. This starch “unlocks” the large intestine’s unused hydration potential, to absorb up to five litres of fluid per day.
As an example of PREPD’s benefits, Vincent cites ambassador Todd Hazelwood, a 23-year-old racing car driver who won the Dunlop Super2 Series in 2017.
“Todd was one of the first athletes we trialled our prototypes with, and he’s had a consistently, really positive experience with PREPD. He really feels the hydration difference, and is tapping into it, which is consistent across all of our athletes and consumers.”
Dehydration in a supercar is extreme, as the interior of the vehicle is some 30 degrees Celsius hotter than ambient air temperature.
“If it’s 40 degrees outside, then it will be 70 degrees in the car, so the dehydration is especially noticeable. Todd can lose often up to three litres of fluid per hour, which is a staggering amount. Those levels of dehydration severely compromise your concentration, your reaction times, your skill execution. So he’s found right from the first time he tested it 18 months ago, to a 12-hour race recently, that his reaction times stay sharp, and his concentration, especially in
the long sessions, is really
clear. Basically, the longer you exert and the more fluid you lose, the more you notice all the benefits of PREPD.”
