✷ FOOD TOURISM
FACTORY IN FOCUS: I-MEI FOODS
More than just a factory, the I-MEI Foods headquarters in Taoyuan City, Taiwan, is a tourist destination.
The factory campus also boasts an on-site museum, its own restaurant, a store, laboratory, children’s play area, traditional outdoor theatrical stage and an eco-park.
In fact, I-MEI puts a lot of effort into social responsibility and environmental-protection issues. The company sponsors conservation specialist Jane Goodall in her efforts towards chimpanzee preservation (the eco-park has a chair dedicated to her). It participates in conservation activities for the endangered Siberian tiger and sponsors groups that help the
Penghu Green Turtle return home to spawn. The park also treats wastewater and is home to old trees that I-MEI has rescued from destruction and transplanted. On-site, you’ll find park benches made from the brand’s recycled
