appeal to consumers’ sense of smell, such as bland washing powders. The scent is embedded in the Fragrance-Zip fastener during the manufacturing process, and Zip-Pak says it can duplicate virtually any desired aroma.
The Child-Deterrent Tab is a mechanism that provides deterrence for younger children on products such as washing capsules, or but still offers easy accessibility for older consumers.
According to Zip-Pak’s national sales manager Michael Debono, the company saw strong interest in its offerings, not only from dairy and confectionery companies, but also from some new categories such as personal care companies.
“We usually appeal to manufacturers of dry goods and snacks, so this is a bit outside of the box,” he said.
SMC BRINGS SAVINGS
SMC took the opportunity to
showcase its range of power
saving solutions at AUSPACK,
including its: AR Regulator
series, which saves up to 20 per
cent in energy; AS-R Pressure
Valve and A-SQ Valve Flow
Valve, which cuts internal air
consumption by up to 25 per
cent; VMG Blow Gun series,
which provides a 20 per cent
reduction in power
increased vacuum flow. “Compressing air is an
inherently inefficient operation, a lot of energy is created that is wasted. SMC is producing technology to address this issue, and deliver significant savings to manufacturing businesses,” Bill Blyth, energy saving specialist at SMC said.
Energy saving has long been a focus for SMC whose Japanese roots have ensured lean manufacturing and Kaizen philosophy at the core of its business. Through its Energy Saving Customer Journey, SMC has helped customers around the country to realise tangible savings which benefit your bottom line.
AXELENT EXPLORES NEW BOUNDARIES
Axelent headed to AUSPACK armed with a new range of pedestrian protection systems.
The company launched the new McCue Range of pedestrian barriers on its exhibition stand at AUSPACK 2019.
Axelent is a global manufacturer of modular- designed X-Guard safety guarding and X-Tray cable tray systems and McCue Pedestrian Barriers, a range that has been designed to protect pedestrians, machines, forklifts, racking and facilities.
Axelent sales director Drew Hoxey said the McCue range of pedestrian barriers and partitioning systems have been designed for industries that
have a warehouse, logistics centre, manufacturing facility, pedestrian or forklift zone.
The range includes wall perimeters, racking, creating traffic lanes, posts, bollards, framing off areas, guard rails and separating equipment from pedestrians.
ACCUPAK SHOWCASES COOL COMBO
AccuPak’s Peter Slager said AUSPACK 2019 had brought the company many good sales leads.
“Customer sentiment at the show has also been very upbeat,” he told Food & Drink Business.
The company was exhibiting a twin Fortress Stealth metal detector “combo” machine, and a WIPOTEC-OCS HC-A checkweigher in Melbourne.
AccuPak also represents the Kawasaki robot range in Australia, and was demonstrating a Kawasaki duAro dual-arm collaborative robot (cobot) on the stand.
The duAro has two arms which reach horizontally and move as a pair. According to AccuPak, this means the cobot can easily perform operations similar to those of a person using both arms within a one-person space.
At an average cost of $50-75,000 per unit including vision system and systems integration work, the purchase of a cobot is within reach for most small and mid-sized enterprises, according to AccuPak. ✷
