drinks and mineral waters to include a line-up of sodas made without sweetener additives. A small amount of sugar, around 3.5g/100ml, is included in recipes that use extracts, juices and oils for flavours. StrangeLove says it took a different approach with the new Lo-Cal Sodas made without stevia, xylitol and erythritol.
“Our experience developing premium mixer products gave us a big edge here. Having developed relationships with some of the best ingredient producers around the world, we developed this project using distilled botanicals and extracts that you typically wouldn’t find in a commercial soft drink,” StrangeLove co-founder James Bruce said.
StrangeLove Lo-Cal Soda flavours include Double Ginger, Yuzu from Japan, Holy Grapefruit, Cloudy Pear & Cinnamon, Lemon Squash, Smoked Cola and Very Mandarin with a four pack of 300ml retailing for $11.99.
GOLDEN CIRCLE GOES FOR FIZZ
Kraft Heinz fruit juice brand Golden Circle is refreshing its range with a line of sparkling juices. There are no artificial flavours or colours and no added sugars, and are available in single can or bottle formats as well as multipacks.
“Consumer choice across the total beverages market has exploded over the past few years, however, ambient juice brands, along with many other categories, are looking for new ways to secure a place on the tables of Australian consumers,” Kraft Heinz Australia CMO Shalabh Atray said.
“Although there has been a large amount of innovation in the beverages category in general, little has been done in the ambient juice category,” Atray said. “We saw this as a huge opportunity for Golden Circle and are excited with the direction that Sparkling will be taking us in.”
Golden Circle Sparkling juices come in three flavours – Crisp Apple; Zesty Apple, Lemon & Lime and Apple & Tropical Punch. The new range is available at grocery stores in single 250ml cans (RRP $1.99), 4 x 250ml can multipacks (RRP $6) and 750ml glass bottles (RRP $3.99).
