During extensive testing in
Kelvion’s own R&D facilities, several
spray systems were verified to get the
best possible results with regard to water
distribution, water mass flow and droplet formation. Kelvion also tested different pad systems from numerous suppliers in their labs to judge independently the claims made when used with their design.
The result is a tailored adiabatic pad system with a new water distribution system for outstanding performance, as well as an update to the existing Kelvion spray system to offer improved performance and water efficiency. Both options will offer a uniform, reliable cooling effect with a tested, verified air pressure drop.

HIGH PERFORMANCE AND excellent heat transfer even at low temperature differences – these are essential requirements for heat ex- changers in power plants, steel production and district heating and cooling networks or for cool- ing data centres.
With the NX350M, Kelvion has developed the right plate for this task.
Thanks to its 350 mm connection diameter and plate dimensions of approximately 1,000 mm width and 3,000 mm height, it can be used to build units for thermal outputs in the double-digit
megawatt range.

Thin, pressure-resistant, plates with a corrugation depth of only 2.4 mm and a highly turbulent media flow ensure efficient heat transfer.
With the NX350M, the NX plate series now comprises six different sizes with connection diameters from DN 25 to DN 350. They cover various performance requirements in industry, power supply or data centre cooling.
The effectiveness of the NX350M plate's heat transfer was tested using a unit five meters long and weighing around 20 tons. An output in the 2-digit megawatt range, as requested by the customer, was achieved under all operating conditions. Because the test unit results are incorporated into the charac- teristics for dimensioning Kelvion heat exchangers, it benefits all Kelvion customers, as well as commissioning companies. ✺
