Reduce costly maintenance, shutdowns
ENGINEERS RESPONSIBLE FOR optimis- ing the up time of process flow networks in de- manding industries will find the FLT93 Series Flow Switch provides a reliable early warning alert to the potential of dry running conditions, cavitation and other pump issues that can lead to emergency shutdowns, service interruptions and unplanned costly maintenance.
The switch from Fluid Components Inter- national (FCI) is ideal for the long list of in- dustries that depend on pumps to move pro- cess fluids and keep cooling systems up and running. Pumps are expensive to operate and costly to maintain--especially when dry running conditions suddenly occur due to system variable demand, leaks, clogs or other problems that could affect a pump’s seals or bearings. The resulting damage can require expensive, time-consuming repairs, over- hauls or replacement at an even higher cost.
The dual alarm switch reliably monitors the flow and temperature of liquids, gases, slurries and more. It is ideal for pump wet/dry detec- tion, where sudden, unexpected reductions in media flow rates can leave pumps vulnerable to over-heating conditions that shutdown process lines and require troubleshooting, fixes and more. This SIL2 rated instrument is designed for heavy-duty, potentially hazardous process industry environments and comes with a com- prehensive list of global safety approvals.
The FLT93 Switch, with its no moving parts design, offers a highly robust scheme for pump protection with its dual alarm capabil- ity. With Alarm 1, the switch will detect a low flow situation anywhere between 0.003 to 0.9 meters per second MPS.
If an Alarm 2 occurs because the feed line to the pump is running dry, this condition would be an emergency signal to shut down the pump immediately because the bearings now see gas instead of a liquid as a heat transfer medium.

Bespoke design options for industrial range
KELVION HAS EXPANDED its industrial air cooler range to provide customers with fast and flexible opt
The GS/GB and CS/CB cubic air coolers have been developed to match the latest market re- quirements.
They are ideally suited to a range of refrigeration applications, including cold storage areas for food and leisure facilities, such as artificial ski slopes.
Fast delivery is guaranteed with the GS/GB model for those working to tight time schedules, with more than 750 defined options for the most common uses.
For customers wanting a bespoke solution, the CS/CB cooler has the flexibility to be configured in over 8,000 different ways for the most de- manding refrigeration tasks.
Bespoke design features included in the list of options are UV-C lights to reduce airborne parti- cles such as viruses, bacteria and germs. This new cool line-up builds on Kelvion’s track record in re- frigeration know-how and offers optimised coil de- signs and the latest premium brand fans, based on a proven concept. The coolers operate as blow through and draw through, have a CO2 operating pressure of up to 60 bar and provide optimum en- ergy efficiency.
Both versions are suitable for synthetic and natural refrigerants and for temperatures rang- ing from -40°C to +50°C.
The GS/GB model has a capacity range from 6.5 kW to 121 kW (HFC, SC2), while the CS/CB version, with stainless steel tubes, offers a range from 6.4kW to 184kW.
The CS/CB cooler can be configured in over 8,000 different ways.
Mini cooler packs a punch
GUNTNER HAS RELEASED a new Mini COMPACT Air Cooler which has powder-coated, anti-corrosive aluminium casing and stands just 124 mm high.
Despite its small size, it packs a punch with one or two high-performance EC fans and a pow- er output ranging from 0.4 to 2.2 kW.
At the same time, its energy-efficient de- sign including optimised defrost heating cuts costs by up to 30 per cent for ventilation and 50 per cent for defrosting compared to conventional air coolers.
Thanks to its downward-pointing fans, the Mini COMPACT Air Cooler can be mounted flush against the ceiling to maxim- ise the available storage space.
It can be accessed conveniently from be- low via the fold-away tray, while the small number of individual parts, smooth sur- faces and plug-connected fans allow for
swift cleaning and maintenance with minimal downtime.
The Mini COMPACT Air Cooler is compatible with common HFCs, CO2, and flammable refrig- erants. It comes with a terminal box wired ready for connection.
Guntner’s compact air cooler is only 124mm high.
